The Royal Sonesta is in the heart of Downtown Minneapolis, a half block from the Nicollet Mall (an early pedestrian and buses-only street from the Urban Renewal era), a half block from Hennepin Avenue (the cultural and entertainment thoroughfare of Downtown Minneapolis), four blocks from the Minneapolis Central Library, and eight blocks from the Mississippi River.  In addition to the Wood & Paddle restaurant in the hotel, numerous downtown eateries are within easy walking distance.  The Royal Sonesta is easily accessible by public transit, including buses and the Blue and Green lines of the METRO Light Rail System.

TRAVELING TO MINNEAPOLIS

AIRLINE TRAVEL – Minneapolis is served by MSP International Airport (MSP), about 13 highway miles (approximately 25 minutes travel time) southeast of the conference hotel. MSP has two terminals, with direct flights from most major cities in the United States. Terminal 1 serves most major airlines and is a hub for Delta Airlines. Terminal 2 serves Southwest and other low-fare airlines.  Both terminals are served by the METRO Blue Line, which has a METRO light-rail station at the Nicollet Mall, two blocks from the conference hotel.

RAIL TRAVEL – Amtrak’s Twin Cities station is Union Station in Downtown Saint Paul.  Union Station is served by the METRO Green Line, which stops at the same METRO light-rail station on Nicollet Mall, two blocks from the conference hotel.
